Your child is capable. But capability isn't the same as independence.
Your student may be bright, motivated, and full of potential - and still struggle to get started, manage time, prioritize, or follow through. You may find yourself reminding, monitoring, organizing, and stepping in more than you'd like.
I help students build the skills and confidence to take increasing ownership of those responsibilities.
The goal isn't dependence. It's independence.
I don't want students to need me forever.
I help students understand how they work, develop strategies that actually fit them, practice those strategies, and gradually take ownership.
Over time, the responsibility shifts from parent --> coach --> student.
What I Help Students Develop
Executive functioning skills for school - and life.

Planning
Breaking Assignments, projects, and goals into manageable steps.

Prioritizing
Figuring out what needs attention now - and what can wait.

Getting Started
Moving from "I know I need to do it" to actually beginning.

Following Through
Building systems that support consistency and completion.

Self-Advocacy
Knowing when, why, and how to ask for help.

Independence
Taking increasing ownership of responsibilities, decisions, and outcomes.
Who I Work With
Students who are capable of more independence than they're currently demonstrating.

Middle School
Building the organization, planning, and self-management skills needed to navigate growing academic responsibilities.

High School
Strengthening independence, follow-through, and self-advocacy while preparing students for life beyond high school.

College & Beyond
Developing the systems, confidence, and self-direction needed to thrive with greater freedom and less external structure.
The common thread: They don't need someone to do things for them. They need someone to help them learn how to do things themselves.
Meet Kel
I believe independence is a skill - and it can be taught.
I'm Kel, an executive functioning coach and educator who helps capable middle school, high school, and college students become more independent in school and in life.
My work grew out of years of supporting students who were bright and capable, but needed help turning that potential into consistent habits, systems, and self-advocacy. I've seen how easily well-intentioned support can become parents doing more and students taking less ownership.
My approach is different: I help students understand how they work, develop strategies that fit them, and gradually take responsibility for using those strategies themselves.
The goal isn't to make students better at relying on support. It's to help them become confident enough to need less of it.

Working Together
Individual Executive Function Coaching | $250/session
Coaching is personalized to each student's goals, strengths, and challenges. Together, we build practical systems for planning, organization, follow-through, self-advocacy, and time management - while gradually shifting responsibility from parent to student.
The goal: meaningful progress toward greater independence, not lifelong dependence on coaching.
